Mizeria (Cucumber Salad)

Description: Mizeria or cucumber salad is a very common type of side or dish you would see with about any Polish dinner. Poland’s salads usually consist of common ingredients you would find grown in Poland like cucumbers rather than a salad made of lettuce. Sometimes Polish salads or made up of radish, carrots, and beets. There are many kinds of Polish salad so when thinking Polish salad, don’t think lettuce right away but rather think of other vegetables like cucumbers!

Ingredients

4-5 cucumbers

2 tbs salt

1 cup of sour cream

2 tbs of chopped dill

Directions:

  1. On a cutting board cut the cucumbers into thick or thin slices depending on preference.

  2. But in bowl and sprinkle on salt.

  3. Put cucumbers with salt in fridge to soak in salt 2-3 hours.

  4. Mix in sour cream and dill onto the cucumbers and mix.

  5. Put in fridge to cool for ½ an hour and serve.
